An investigation of a new social networks contact suggestion based on face recognition algorithm
Automated comparison of faces in the photographs is a well established discipline. The main aim of this paper is to describe an approach whereby face recognition can be used in suggestion of a new contacts. The new contact suggestion is a common technique used across all main social networks. Our approach uses a freely available face comparison called "Betaface" together with our automated processig of the user´s Facebook profile. The research´s main point of interest is the comparison of friend´s facial images in a social network itself, how to process such a great amount of photos and what additional sources of data should be used. In this approach we used our automated processing algorithm Betaface in the social network Facebook and for the additional data, the Flickr social network was used. The results and their quality are discussed at the end
Model of subject-didactic competences of teachers reflecting the development of computational thinking in pupils and students
Rozvoj a zapracování konceptu rozvoje informatického myšlení (z anglického
computational thinking) žáků do kurikula informatických předmětů je v současnosti
jednou z velkých výzev, se kterými se česká školská soustava vyrovnává. Takto
koncipovaná výuka ale předpokládá cílený rozvoj obsahově-předmětových
a didakticko-pedagogických kompetencí učitelů potřebných pro rozvoj informatického
myšlení u jejich žáků a studentů. Předložená stať se tak zabývá možností vymezení
obecného modelu předmětově-didaktických kompetencí učitelů podporující rozvoj
informatického myšlení u žáků a studentů.The development and incorporation of the concept of the development of
computational thinking into the curriculum of computing subjects is currently one of the
major challenges facing the Czech school system. However, such a concept of
teaching presupposes a targeted development of content-subject and didacticpedagogical competences of teachers necessary for the development of computational
thinking in their pupils and students. Thus, the present paper deals with the possibility
of defining a general model of subject-matter and didactic competences of teachers
supporting the development of computational thinking in pupils and students

Adaptation of Navigation by the Modified Results of Full Scan Algorithm in Adaptive Hypermedia Systems
Abstract. Models of behavior mining from logs in adaptive systems are one from many methods how to obtain useful information for personalized navigation. Target of this paper is to describe modified results of full scan algorithm used to creation recommended links to concepts. For creation recommended links is used technique of traversal patterns. Established weights up to concepts and links along with the results of full scan algorithm created relevant recommended links within the scope of all subject matter and within the scope of topic in actual concept. The fundamental part is facilitating orientation for user in hyperspace
Multimedia and Interactivity in Educational Materials
Teachers can choose from a group of different kinds of educational materials. These educational materials vary with their features, properties, and possibilities of use. Nowadays, teachers are using more digital educational materials, which are simple to use and offers advantages that come from their digital form. But not all digital materials provide significant benefits for effective education. The main features that improve the learning of students are multimedia and interactive elements. This paper contains a summary of multimedia and interactivity and different points of view on these terms.
Evolutionary synthesis of automatic classification on astroinformatic big data
This article describes using of new approach to automatic classification of big data records in Be and B[e] stars spectra in large astrophysical archives. With enormous amount of these data it is no longer feasible to analyse it using classical approaches. We introduce evolutionary synthesis of the classification by means of so called analytic programming (AP), one of methods of symbolic regression. By using this method, we synthesise the most suitable mathematical models that approximate chosen samples of the stellar spectra. As a result is then selected the class whose synthesised formula has the lowest difference (i.e. the most similar) compared to the particular spectrum. The results show us that classification of stellar spectra by means of AP is able to identify different shapes of the spectra and classify them.Web of Science32544742
Support of Informal Carers for People After a Stroke with Crowdsourcing and Natural Language Processing
For a long time, both professionals and the lay public showed little interest in informal carers. Yet these people deals with multiple and common issues in their everyday lives. As the population is aging we can observe a change of this attitude. And thanks to the advances in computer science, we can offer them some effective assistance and support by providing necessary information and connecting them with both professional and lay public community
